On Friday Dr. Kenneth Lyle from Duke University came to the Multi to perform a chemistry show for River and Sky class. Dr. Ken is part of Duke's Chemistry Outreach program, which provides numerous free chemistry programs for youth.
The kids absolutely loved the program, which was largely run by a Forest student who has attended many camps with Dr. Ken. During the show students learned about acids and bases, phase changes and more. The kids were amazed when we made snow indoors and saw a beaker freeze to a wooden board because of a chemical reaction.
