100th Day Celebration

Thursday was our 100th day of school and we had a wonderful day-long celebration. After our morning routine we read Pigs in Hiding by Arlene Dubanevich. The kids then went to Spanish and Music while us teachers hid 100 pigs around the classroom. When the kids returned from snack recess after we had a pig hunt for 10 minutes. Each student found one pig before going to language groups. We will continue to find the remaining pigs throughout the next few weeks.

In our language groups we shared our 100th Day boxes. Each child read the clues about their collection before the other students guessed what was in their box. After three guesses every child revealed what was in their box and set up their display. After we shared in small groups all of the language groups visited each other to share their collections. River Class joined us for the final ten minutes of language groups and viewed our collections. All of the children were so pleased to share their objects with a broader audience.
